Battlefield 3 is a first-person shooter video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. As a single-player game, Battlefield 3 has all of the failings of Modern Warfare. It is a direct sequel to 2005’s Battlefield 2, and the eleventh installment in the Battlefield franchise. Battlefield 3 has chosen to tell its tale of modern warfare and counter-terrorist action by hopping from character to character, with a flashback framing structure to hold it all together.
