Transformers (2007) is a live-action science fiction action film directed by Michael Bay and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. The film centers on Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf), a teenager caught in a war between two robot factions from Cybertron: the heroic Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and the evil Decepticons, led by Megatron. Both sides seek the powerful artifact, the AllSpark, hidden on Earth. After buying a car that is the Autobot Bumblebee, Sam and Mikaela Banes (Megan Fox) are pursued by Decepticons and a government agency. Sam must help the Autobots find the AllSpark before the Decepticons use it to conquer the universe. The film was a major commercial success and launched a successful franchise.
